our two-wheel transportation to school

How do we go to school? By bicycle like this. Sometimes we walk.

Some of us share a motor-bike. Don't worry. We are quite used to riding like this!

After school we wait for our parents on come on bicycles or motor-bikes.

Making a difference: The vision

WNS card22This is really the beginning of a journey. The vision began in 2008 when we first saw the urgent need for the rural children of a developing country to have access to good education. We saw the social and economic benefits of good education: eradication of poverty, improvement in living standard, personal and family well-being.

We quote below excerpts from a founding director’s statement:
“WISDOM NEST SCHOOL
Since 2008 I have been carrying a vision-prompting in my heart to set up an Education Fund for the children in Baray. I really believe that education is the only way to eradicate poverty. Parents here in Baray work hard to send their children to school. I have witnessed the positive influences of education in the lives of impoverished children who completed higher education.
In the earlier chapters I have included testimonies of a number of such successes. This is really an important key for the success in the future of the lives of the new generation. I have seen many international-standard schools being set up in Phnom Penh but my heart’s desire is to see a good quality private mission school set up to provide quality education for the needy children in Baray.

The Children of Baray Spur Us to Build a School
I started thinking of having a private mission school of quality (providing Grade 1-12 education) in Baray when I was pondering about the education of my god-grandson, Samuel, and his friends. These children represent the future generations of Baray. There is just no quality education in Baray at the moment…”

“The vision to build a quality private mission school in Baray gained momentum in 2012. The first donation came in October 2013. In February 2014 the building programme was started. By May 2014 the land was purchased; it is big enough for the construction of both the primary and secondary schools…”

” We have on our Board people who represent those who share this vision and have responded to this call: pastors, missionaries, educators, professionals, and business persons.”

“We foresee that we will be able to help many poor students, and many parents will be happy to see their children having access to a good school in a rural place like Baray. ”
“Our goal to set up a model mission school with good, dedicated, trained local teachers is most important for the next generation. The school will in turn produce good teachers, in addition to professionals and leaders in various important fields.”
